Year 4
We really like being in year 4 and in the new building especially now that it is winter because the floor is all warm. We work really hard, we are very busy we do exciting things like making bonfire cakes. We like our new classroom because it is quiet.
On Thursday and Friday afternoons we do PE. We go swimming on Thursday as well.
Year 4 is very special because we get to go to Greatwood. ‘This year we are going early, in April and not at the weekend. This is better because I will not miss football’ – Joseph.
We have spellings to learn every week and we have to write sentences about each word. We do handwriting and Mrs Kingett says this helps our hands to learn the words.
Every week we have a times table to learn and we are tested on them on a Friday.
We get our homework on a Friday and we have to remember to bring it back the next week.
‘We have to read every night for about 20 minutes, but I like that because I can’t sleep’ – Katy
Mrs Kingett says if we haven’t got a friend to read to we can read to teddy.
‘Year 4 is cool’ – Kayleigh and Tyler
Visit of Tudor Surgeon
As part of our work on Tudors we had a visit from a Tudor Surgeon and learnt about the tools he used to operate with. There was no way of hiding the pain. He brought in a leach which was used to suck blood from infected wounds. Here are some photos of the day.
