In Squirrel class we are kind to each other and try our very best in all we do. We have decided on ‘Golden Rules’ for our classroom to help us make our learning fun and our classroom a safe and happy place to be.
These are our Golden Rules…
We will be kind and helpful.
We will be gentle and polite.
We will work hard and try our best in everything we do.
We will listen to others.
We will look after our classroom and everything in it.
We will care for the environment.
When we follow our ‘Golden Rules’ we earn house points, stickers and rainbow awards and we put marbles in a jar, when the jar is full we choose a treat.
We also have ‘Golden time’ on a Friday. This is our favorite time of the week and it is a chance for us to choose what activities we do and we can also bring in items form home to show to the rest of the class.
Everyday we have two special helpers who look after our class. They are in charge of taking the register to the office, getting the fruit and milk and leading the line when we walk to assembly.
On a Monday we go into the ICT suite and learn how to use the computer. We are also very lucky because we have a swimming pool that we use every Thursday.
We try to look after ourselves and the environment. We do this by drinking lots of water and having ‘brain gym’ every day. We also have a Green Councillor who is in charge of switching off the lights and reminding us to recycle.
Every term we choose the topic we would like to find out about and then we ask questions about these topics. We enjoy learning about things that interest us.
