Log Book Entries 1970 - 1975
The following are extracts I have taken from the log books that are kept in the school library. All comments made by me are in italics.

1970: May 1st: Cup Final - K.O competition - Westfield beat Clutton 2 - 1 to win cup (First time I can find of Westfield winning it).
1970 - Nov 12th: Miss M.A. Cray requested permission for leave of absence without pay in January to be married. This was granted.
1971 - April 23rd: First school swimming session M/N Baths.
1973 - May: Retirement of Mr John T. Moss from governors after 25 years. In tribute it says how in this time the school has grown from 30 to 370 pupils.
1973 - June: Meeting to discuss new school on the site (see the attached photocopies).
1974 - June: We were added to the 1975/6/7 Building Programme (see attached photocopy).
1974 - December: Two break ins at school in a week, also on same pages camp visit to Charterhouse. (see attached photocopies).
1975 - January 7th: Number on roll - 421
1975 - Spring: Changing room project complete - equipment installed to heat the swimming pool water.
1975 - March 16th: Visit to Swanage as a camp with year 6. (Mrs Lynes, Mr Long, Mrs Cobbe, Mr K. Rideout.)
1975 - March 21st: Meeting to discuss new plans for structure of the school - this would mean an extension not a new school. It was approved. (see attached log)
