‘Mrs Gardner and Mrs Hulford look after us. They play with us and show people what to do.’-
Each morning when we come into class, we hang up our coats on our pegs, put our lunch boxes on our special shelf and put our book bags in a special box. Then we sit at the tables to play games. When Mrs Gardner jiggles the bells we stop, look and listen and wiggle our fingers. Then it is register time. This is when we find out what exciting things we will be doing today. Each day we also have two special Badger Helpers, who help to get the milk and take the register to the office.
‘We’ve got a water tray.’ - Ryan. ‘We play outside with spades and bricks.’ - Ben.
We have a lovely big classroom full of lots of things which help us learn through our play. We have a role-play area and each term we choose what to turn it into. ‘We like playing with playdough.’ - Faye. We also play outside on bikes and the adventure play.
‘I like playing with numbers.’ - Liam.
We are busy learners in Badger class, we practise letter sounds, writing letters and counting. We have PE on Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning.
‘We’ve got Golden Rules. When we follow them we stay on the sun and have Golden Time.’
We have 6 Golden Rules to help us learn and to keep us happy and safe at school. They remind us about watching and listening, taking turns and sharing, looking after other people and our classroom things and to have a go. On Friday afternoon we have a special Golden Time, sometimes we have a cinema party, a disco or we dress up and play with our toys.
‘We love to play with puzzles,’ - Libby ‘We have planning time and Badger time, when we get to play with our friends.’ -
Mrs Paisey looks after us at lunchtime and Mrs Paisey’s helpers from Year Six. In July we went on a trip to Avon Wildlife Park. You can see some of our photographs by clicking on the attachments below. We had a really good day.
